During the grape harvest in1993, on the grounds of her family property Château Smith Haut Lafitte, Mathilde and her husband Bertrand Thomas met professor Vercauteren from the University of Pharmacy of Bordeaux. He revealed to them the extraordinary antioxidant power of grape and grapevine polyphenols. Caudalie was born from this decisive meeting. For over 10 years now, they have worked together to research and discover the most effective and natural skin treatments.
In 1999, Caudalie created the world’s first Vinothérapie® Spa in the heart of the Château Smith Haut Lafitte.
